Covered Portage Cove

There are a number of excellent popular and protected anchorages in Killarney Bay and Covered Portage Cove is one of the best for protection. Our boat is the farthest one back. (look how high up we are). The breathtaking view from the top of the hills surrounding the inner cove make the hike up the steep rocks well worth the effort.

From all vantage points, this place is a special anchorage to boaters.

We take off in the dingy with our friends Juliane and Fred, avid hikers, to climb a mountain.

We park and tie our dingys to the trees and head up to the rocks. Are we crazy or what?

Fred leads the way.

We are joined with fellow loopers and Buddy the dog.

We make it down the mountain and come out to the water in the wrong place. Our dingys are far away. Fred offers to save the day and retrieve our dingys.

Froggy.

Hey, there's Fred taking pictures. I thought he was getting the dingys.

Here he comes to save the day!

We cheered and took pictures.

We load up and head out after a fun day.
