Washington D.C.

We started our day at the Eastern Market which dates back to 1873 and still incorporates the original restored building. Along with produce, meats, seafood, and cheeses, they have an indoor deli and bakery.

This large market spills out on to the streets of an older restored neighborhood with a funky, artsy vibe.

There were arts and crafts on the street and a flea market on the side, which made for a perfect afternoon.

This is the Metro which feels like a bizarre, futuristic bomb shelter. It's very easy to use so we got off in Chinatown.

We toured Chinatown which was mostly small shops and restaurants.

Yes, we ate in this ridiculously named restaurant. It was pretty good.

On the way back to the marina, we see a crowded parking lot next to an open- air seafood market. They were selling everything fresh from they bay.

This place was amazing. They were selling live blue crabs, steamed blue crabs, raw shrimp, cooked shrimp, oysters, clams, and more kinds of fish than I've ever seen. We will be back tomorrow.

As we come home to the boat, we admire the boats anchored in the channel enjoying the weekend.

Peaches and Samy admire the boats as well.

  1. Hi guys,
Just caught up with your blogging and it looks like things are going swimmingly. The early history of this country just keeps floating by, doesn't it. Donna and I just got back from a family visit to St Louis and we will be ready to return whenever you get there. So.....New Jersey must be the next adventure. Good luck with that....Richard
